Tate Reeves’ campaign for Lt. Governor is calling on Billy Hewes to stop the discredited practice known as push-polling. Numerous Reeves supporters have alerted the campaign to being called and asked for whom they are voting and then being read a series of false, misleading statements about Tate Reeves in an attempt to change their vote and skew the poll.

Mississippi Treasurer Tate Reeves, Republican candidate for Lt. Governor, released information on a poll his campaign conducted last week that shows Reeves with a 40-point lead heading into the final weeks before the August 2nd Republican primary. Republican candidate for Lt. Governor Tate Reeves announced today that his campaign will be expanding its television advertising campaign into three new markets later this week. The ad called ‘Enough,’ which is on the air now in Jackson, Hattiesburg and select cable systems will begin airing in the Biloxi-Gulfport market tomorrow and in the Meridian and Columbus-Tupelo areas on Friday.

During the first 12 ½ years of Billy Hewes’ long career as a state legislator, the state’s total bonded indebtedness grew more than 392% (14.21% annually).
During the last 7 ½ years of Billy Hewes’ long career as a state legislator, the state’s total bonded indebtedness grew 18% (2.1% annually).
The difference? Tate Reeves has served as State Treasurer for the last 7 ½ years, and Haley Barbour has served as Governor.

In the one-month period of May 2011, Reeves raised $163,395 and reported cash on hand of $1,788,220.17. Those figures set a record for a campaign for Lt. Governor in Mississippi, both for the amount of funds raised in the period and cash on hand. In 2007 the two Republican candidates for Lt. Governor raised $118,215.71 combined and had a combined cash on hand total of $1,772,370.84.
